( The mission wasn't anything particularly complicated. As a mercenary, Cloud was used to receiving all sorts of odd jobs. Anything from gathering stray cats to busting out science experiences from science labs, which is his current mission. The first bit of the mission feels much like the ones before: cracking codes, beating up guards, sneaking through vents, pocketing some high-priced ticket items to sell, and marking his way closer to the level his target resides. There wasn't anything too off until he got to level 28.
First, the door was difficult for him to hack. Then, after trespassing that obstacle he noted the halls were bare and dimly lit. The air was thick and heavy as if the vents were barely functioning. It took a moment for Cloud's lungs to acclimate, and he became less patient with each step. The stifling air down here made him long for the ventilated air on the higher levels, something he'd taken for granted. Cloud is antsy, and instead of sneaking, he bolts through the halls toward the destined room. He doesn't stop to look for guards, and he doesn't hesitate, he pushes through the entrance to the holding lab where he would find the subject. His intolerance for the discomfort on this level made him behave rashly, and the level's lack of security held no consequences for him.
Cloud was given a credit of half up front and the other half to come when the deed was done, the patron was anonymous and it wasn't at all unusual for people to keep their identities, reasons, and purpose secret from him - he thought nothing of it. Once he reached the holding room he found a large tube in the center of the lab room. Another familiar sight, the specimen was floating in a pool of unknown liquid, covered by tubes, and black cloth.
There's a mask covering the face with tubes running from it. There are straps coiled on the limbs. The specimen, appears to be male and is wearing a black tank top and small black shorts. It looks almost as if this guy has been in the tube for some time. Cloud wipes fingertips a few inches across the tube, and his skin picks up a layer of dust. He takes a short breath before he turns and finds a computer to access the controls of the tube.
The first thing that happens is the tube moves into a horizontal position before the thick green substance drains from it. Then the tube releases gasses or air and breathes in the air from the room. After several moments the tube slides open with a final hiss. Cloud can see thick green-gel-liquid covering the still body. Cloud hesitates a moment before he puts in the next command on the computer. The straps then slide off of the limbs. Cloud isn't sure how long it might take for the other to come to consciousness, or if he would at all. Hoping it's soon, Cloud begins to look around the room for some sort of clothing, towels, or whatever he could offer the male.
From what he understood from his instructions was that the person he was retrieving was kept against their will and would need help adjusting to waking up. Cloud also would receive "further instructions" once he's broken the specimen out. He wasn't given much, not even the gender or a picture, of what the specimen looked like. Only codes and a number identifying the specimen.)
[If there's something Sephiroth did not appreciate very much, it's being trapped. Doubly so in a lab by scientists of some sort. This pinged far too many memories that should mostly be lost or too fragmented to care about. But somehow it still brought about a lot of bitter feelings of being unable to escape. Being locket away.
To make it all worse is he has no idea how it even happened. His spirit found itself back to the physical world but it turned out to be an mistake. What he thought was a way to manifest himself again turned out to be darkness. He almost gained control once, but that was short lived. He also tried to tear his consciousness and spirit away but apparently once it's in a body it belongs to, well, on a certain level it does not want to leave. Even if he does. He also made an attempt to mentally reach out to Cloud of all people. .. Not that it would have gone very well anyway.
It almost felt like someone might have heard him, but it's hard to tell. What he does know though is that as soon as he finds a way to escape he's going to murder everything around him. He has no idea how much time has past, but his mind keeps going back to that of anger and destruction. And just how much he hates humanity.
Which is the thought going through his mind when he feels ... whatever he's in draining away. Of course there's nothing but darkness and for a moment he's not sure if he's in some sort of dream-like state or something else ...
-- Until he realizes there's some sort of helmet covering his head. Which he moves quickly, almost too awkwardly to try and remove without any haste. It doesn't matter how heavy his limbs feel or how hard it is to stand. Getting the mask off is the priority. Once it does it clatters to the floor making a noise.
His eyes don't need to fully focus to realize who else is in the room. There's a mixture of emotions there that momentarily distract him from his current situation. He never thought he'd be actually rescued by --]
